11.The yogidesire of obtaining the benefits/siddhi should keep the knowledge very secret,for it is effective only when it is kept secret, it becomes vain wheninjudiciously revealed.

渴望成功的瑜伽士应该保守哈他瑜伽知识的秘密,恰当的保守瑜伽的秘密更容易获得瑜伽的功效,泄露过多的瑜伽秘密无法获得瑜伽的功效。


12.The practitionerof yoga should live alone in a small monastery situated in a place free fromrocks, water and fire to the extent of a bow’s length and in a fertile countryruled over by a spiritual king where he will not be disturbed.

瑜伽士应该居住在一个远离石、水、火,四尺见方的小房间,选择有贤明君王,富饶的国家才不会被打扰。


13.The yogashala should have a small door and less window; it should be level and withoutany holes, it should be neither to high, to low, nor to long; it should veryclean, daily smeared over with cow dung and water then it becomes free from allinsects, outside it should have a small hall with a raised seat and a well andthe hall should be surrounded by a wall; these are the characteristics of ayoga shala as laid down by the siddhas who have practiced yoga.

瑜伽道场需要一个小门和尽量少的窗户,平整没有孔洞,不能太高,太低,太长,需要很干净,每天用牛粪和水涂抹以驱除毒虫,屋外用围墙围绕,留有一小的通道可供休息;这些瑜伽道场的特性是很适合成就瑜伽士的修行。


14.Living insuch a place, the yogi being free in his mind from all cares should practiceonly yoga all the time, as taught by his guru.

居住在这样的道场里,瑜伽士全身心的投入在瑜伽练习和学习guru传授的知识。


15.Yoga is destroyedthrough the following six causes: over eating, too much fatigue, too much talk,not following yomas and niyamas strictly, keeping company with people and beingfickle minded.

瑜伽的障碍有以下六种:过量饮食,过度疲惫,过多言语,没有遵循戒律和遵行的教导,接触太多的人以致让精神浮躁。


16.Yoga flourishedwith the following six causes: enthusiasm, firm resolve, courage, knowledge oftruth, determination, giving up company of people, following yamas and niyamasstrictly.

瑜伽的进步是源于以下六种因素:热情而坚定决心、勇气、正确的认知、信心、远离社交,遵循戒律和遵行的教导。


17. The tenrules of conduct are: ahimsa (non-injuring), truth, non-stealing, continence,forgiveness, endurance, compassion, meekness, sparing diet,   and cleanliness.

遵循的十戒:不伤害、诚实、不偷盗、禁欲、宽恕、忍辱、怜悯、温和、节制饮食、洁净。


18. The tenniyamas mentioned by those proficient in the knowledge of Yoga are: Tapa,patience, belief in God, charity, adoration of God, hearing discourses on theprinciples of religion, shame, intellect, japa and huta.

遵循十条精进可帮助瑜伽士更快获得知识:苦行、知足、虔诚、布施、向神祈祷、多闻、忏悔、聪慧、持咒和奉献。


19.Asanas aretreated of in the first place as they form the first stage of Yoga. Asana thatmake one firm, free from diseases, and light of limb.

体位法是哈他瑜伽中首先需要描述的部分,熟练体位法可以获得保持稳定、健康和轻盈的身体。


20.I proceed togive out some of the asanas that are accepted by such sages as Vasisha, andsuch yogis as Matsyendra.

我现在将为大家开示传承于瓦西斯塔和鱼王尊者的体位法。


21. Having keptboth the hands under both the thighs, with the body straight, when one sitscalmly in this posture, it is called Swastika.

保持双手在大腿上,身体直立,在这个姿势上进入安静的状态称之为吉祥坐。


22. Placing theright ankle on the left side and the left ankle other right side, makesGomukha-asana, having the appearance of a cow.

把右脚踝放在左侧,左脚踝放在右侧,做成牛面坐,呈现牛面的样子。


23. One foot isto be placed on the thigh of the opposite side; and so also the other foot onthe opposite thigh. This is calledVirasana.

把一只脚放在大腿外侧,另一只脚同样放在大腿外侧,这是英雄坐。

24. Placing theright ankle on the left side of the anus, and the left ankle on the right sideof it, makes what the Yogis call Kurma-asana.

把右脚踝放在肛门左侧,左脚踝放在肛门右侧,瑜伽士称之为龟式。


25. Taking theposture of Padma-asana and carrying the hands under the thighs, when the Yogiraises himself above the ground, with his palms resting on the ground, itbecomes Kukkuta-asana.

采用莲花坐,双手穿过大腿,手撑地面莲花离地,这是公鸡式。


26. Havingassumed the Kukkuta-asana, when one grasps his neck by crossing his handsbehind his head, and lies in this posture with his back touching the ground, itbecomes Uttana Kurma-asana, from its appearance like that of a tortoise.

采用公鸡式,双手在颈后向扣,仰卧躺在地面上,就像一个乌龟一样,这是仰卧龟式。


27. Havingcaught the toes of the foot with both hands and carried them to the ears bydrawing the body like a bow, it becomes Dhanuraasana.

双手抓住大脚趾,向耳朵方向伸展,身体就像拉弓一样,就形成了弓式。


28.Place thefoot at the foot of the left thigh and the left foot inside the right knee.Take hold of the right foot by the left hand and the left food by the righthand, and then turn you head towards the left completely. This is ArdhaMatsyendrasana.

脚靠近左侧大腿下,左脚放于右侧膝盖内侧,左手抓住右侧脚,右手抓住右脚,身体尽可能的向左后方扭转,这就是半鱼王式。


29.ArdhaMatsyendrasana increase appetite by fanning the gastric fire, and destroysterrible diseases in the body. When practiced, it rouses kundalini and makesthe moon steady.

练习半鱼王式可以点燃胃火,增加食欲,驱除身体严重的疾病,并且可以唤醒昆达里尼,平衡左脉。


30.Stretch outboth the legs, and having taken hold of the toes of the feet with hands, placeyour forehead upon your knees. This is Paschimatanasana.

双腿伸直,双手抓住双脚大脚趾,前额放在双膝上,这是前屈背部伸展式。


31.The mostexcellent of all asanas, Paschimatanasana, makes the breath flow through theSushumna, rouses the gastric fire, makes the loins lean, and removes alldiseases.

前屈背部伸展是所有体式中最好的体式,通过练习背部前屈伸展,引导呼吸贯穿中脉,激发胃火,较少腰腹赘肉,治疗所有的疾病。
